Mohi-ud-Din Islamic University (MIU) is a respected educational institution located in the beautiful hill station of Nerian Sharif, AJ&K. The university was officially established under the Mohi-ud-Din Islamic University Act passed in 1999 by the AJ&K Legislative Assembly. Built on 10 acres of peaceful and scenic land at an altitude of 6,000 feet, MIU offers a calm and inspiring place for students to learn and grow.

Founded by the late Hazrat Allama Pir Ala-ud-din Siddiqui, a globally admired scholar and social leader, MIU was created to serve humanity by promoting both religious and modern education. His vision lives on through the continued guidance of Chancellor Pir Sultan-ul-Arfeen Siddiqui and the leadership of Vice Chancellor Lt. Gen. (R) Dr. Asif Mumtaz Sukhera HI(M).

MIU focuses on producing well-educated, ethical, and skilled individuals. With over 2,473 students, 11,746 alumni, and 246 faculty members—including 17 visiting professors—the university offers a rich academic experience. Its mission is to combine religious values with modern knowledge, preparing students to face real-world challenges. MIU also offers advanced degrees like MS/MPhil and PhDs, and its degrees are fully recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.

The university uses a balanced examination system that includes both internal and external assessments.
